The Los Osakangeles District Court is the home of Attorney Online, featuring several courtrooms equipped to deal with the type of nonsensical and ridiculous cases the country of Japanifornia have come to expect.

The Courthouse[]

The courthouse itself is equipped with all manner of technology to support cases, including attorney benches, a witness stand, a judge's chair, a transformer to change the style and theme of the courtroom, a jukebox, a time machine and even a portal to Hell.

Each courtroom is also fully soundproof so that the screams of those inside will not disrupt the screaming in other courtrooms.

Basement[]

[Purpose: Landing area, shitposting, testing]

The Basement - formerly known as Area 0 - is the first stop for all new visitors to the courthouse. Upon entering, visitors are often met with shouting, slamming, loud music, shooting and muffled crying. One will also see a group of people huddled around the jukebox, either determined to have their preferred song play or to repeatedly play the same song. Prolonged stay in this courtroom will often lead to headaches.

However, the Basement has been known to act civil and conduct something that could potentiality resemble a case, as well as play games such as Whose Court is it Anyway, so not all hope is lost for the regulars of this area.

For more organized cases though, it is advised that a visitor heads to one of the courtrooms.

Courtroom 1[]

[Purpose: Cases]

Courtroom 1 - formally known as Area 1 - is an original area initially constructed for the primary purpose of conducting relatively serious and scripted cases.

Using pre-written documents, the roles, evidence and witness testimony were generally all pre-determined. As such, these cases featured a document and often the case maker themselves to guide the trial along.

As time went on, the number of scripted cases dwindled and, alongside the introduction of improvisation focused Courtroom 2, the area was mostly abandoned.

The courtroom was given new life and became a courtroom for experimentation, originally focusing on Jury Cases. While the normal cases are decided by the judge alone, Jury cases have up to six jurors that decide the outcome of the case. They also held "Civil Cases" in which a person is suing another one (It contains 2 teams of lawyers, alongside with 2 sets of witness in favor or against a client), the reason being robbery, copyright, rape, child custody, child support, divorce etc. Still, these cases were generally improvisation based similar to other areas.

Eventually, specific area purposes fell to the side and all courtrooms became general casing areas.

Courtroom 2[]

Manlet

[Purpose: Cases]

Courtroom 2 - formally known as Area 2 - was the first courtroom created post-opening of the Courthouse.

Although it remained mostly empty at first, it began use as a primarily improvisation based area, thus an alternative to Courtroom 1. It started so small that cases were made up on the fly and attorneys only had Notepad as their friend. As such, many early cases are lost to time. Soon, as the area began to grow, documents were created to build and keep track of cases. Due to the improvised nature of the area, all elements of a case, such as evidence, are generally made up just before starting the trial, while witness testimony is created by the witnesses themselves and only provided during the trial.

Over time, Courtroom 2 became a more frequented area. The improvisation cases in this area eventually became the standard for other courtrooms.

Courtroom 3[]

TIME SQUAD B O Y S

[Purpose: Cases]

Courtroom 3 - formally known as Area 3 - was the final main courtroom opened (prior to the return of Courtroom 4) for the purpose of conducting trials.

While initially empty, the courtroom was mostly used for more semi-serious improvisation cases away from the crowded Courtroom 2, which at the time had a strange fascination with conducting rape cases.

As such, Courtroom 3 was another area for the increasingly common improvisation trials.

Courtroom 4[]

Cactus

[Purpose: Cases]

Courtroom 4 was originally constructed as a location for erotic role playing (ERP), though was quickly demolished as everyone realized this was a terrible idea.

The courtroom was seldom ever mentioned again, until recently when it was reconstructed as a means to control the unpredictable influx of new attorneys and subsequent overcrowding of the other rooms.

It has acquired a niche; cases too shit for every other courtroom - as evident by its first trial being an LSP case.

On the 23rd February 2016, the area was repurposed into a 'Recreation Room' area (See Arcade / Lounge).

On the 27th February 2016, due to increasing demand for areas, Courtroom 4 was reinstated as a casing area.

Arcade 1 & 2[]

Mafia

Mafia

[Purpose: Game formats]

The Arcade areas' primary purpose is to run Game Formats not meant for the Courtroom areas. These can include Mafia, Whose Court, Decision Games and Tabletop Games. Also known as 'Multipurpose Courtroom' at one point, which allowed for either game or case formats. This was soon changed to strictly game formats later.

Crossover Courtroom[]

CC

[Purpose: Class Trials, other trials featuring non-server content]

Crossover Courtroom is primarily used for Class Trials - cases based on the format found in the Danganronpa games. The area can be used for non-server content including characters and music.

For a range of non-server content, you can browse the Crossover Courtroom Document which contains various user created and uploaded content for use in the area.

Lounge[]

Lounge

[Purpose: Discussion]

On the 23rd February 2016, Courtroom 4 was repurposed into a 'Recreation Room' area, its primary purpose being for conversation and games.

Eventually, this area was split - now the Arcade areas and the Lounge area. Lounge itself can be used for general discussion and occassional interactions with the AOV Administration (Q&A's, Contests, etc.)
